My name is Will, my favorite color is blue (if you can't tell), and I'm the Managing Partner and Founder of Optics. I've got a BBA and a MA in Economics, and am trained / certified in Financial Modeling and Valuation. More importantly, I've worked with 75+ business owners and entrepreneurs over the last few years, helping them start, buy, and sell businesses. Some people have asked which of the three I enjoy more, and I have to say, selling is my favorite.
My strengths are in analysis, strategy, deal structuring, and relationships. The things we work on for and with clients can get pretty stressful. When you're helping someone start a company, buy a company, or sell a company, it's probably one of the most important things that person will ever do. I understand and respect that fact while also believing that the best relationships are those where people are authentic, don't take themselves too seriously, and can have a laugh along the way. Great relationships produce great results, so if you're looking for someone that's going to wear a tie and use a bunch of financial jargon, I may not be your guy.
I'm lucky to have my entire family in Birmingham. Fiancé, parents, brother, two sets of grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, and soon to be in-laws. My fiancé (Bailey) and I have a rambunctious, sweet, White German Shepherd that howls at trains. If we ever spend any time on the phone together, there's a good chance you'll hear him.
I liked playing chess before that Netflix show came out, I started drinking a ton of coffee in grad school so that I could brag about how many coffee's I'd had and now I'm addicted, and my favorite hobby is eating the food that my buddy Gus makes on his new Traeger.
